Manufactured by Ralph Lauren, this vintage late 1980s or early 1990s long evening dress is crafted from a plush, saphire blue velvet blend of 82% rayon and 18% silk. The garment is styled with an elegant jewel neckline, relaxed dolman-style long sleeves, a gathered blouson bodice, and an elegant floor-length flared skirt. Key closure details include a subtle rear keyhole button closure at the neck along with a side hook-and-eye and zipper entry. Blue woven maker tags inside read "Ralph Lauren","MADE IN U.S.A.", "8", and "CA 09153". This navy blue tag with silver/white script lettering and the large woven polo player logo indicates Ralph Lauren's high-end runway/ready-to-wear collection from the late 1980s or early 1990s. This is much higher tier than modern "LAUREN Ralph Lauren" green tags. This example appears in very good vintage condition, exhibiting gentle signs of age and light wear. The rich blue velvet pile remains soft and vibrant overall, showing minor pressure crushing andlinting typical of vintage velvet garments. Fastenings and seams remain fully functional and secure throughout, and internal tags show light fraying. Measures 55" total length, 15" shoulder-to-shoulder, 13" waist (flat), and 22.5" sleeve length. Marked a vintage size 8, this runs small so recommended for a size 4-6.
