Constructed of lustrous turquoise blue silk satin weave fabric, this vintage floor-length caftan gown dates to around the 1980s through the 1990s. The long-sleeve garment is distinguished by its extensive embroidered decoration using heavy, texturedgold metallic cording and small accent beads. Intricate designs form an elaborate, scalloped yoke pattern on both the front and back, with descending, branching paisley and scroll motifs covering the bodice and entire center front. The motifs incorporate stylized coiled wire elements and textured beaded circles, while simpler scattered gold triskelion symbols adorn the upper-to-mid back. Design features include a small standing collar that frames a deep, open V-slit front neckline, full-lengthsleeves with matching embroidered cuffs, and side slits at the lower hem. No maker labels or size tags are present. Condition is very good overall with signs of handling and gentle wear. Notable details include unhemmed, slightly frayed raw edges atthe sleeve cuffs, light thread softening near embroidery borders, and minor fabric creasing. Dimensions measure 20 in. armpit-to-armpit (flat), 20 in. waist (flat), and 56 in. total length from back of neck to hem. Providing an elegant ethnic resort-wear aesthetic, this vintage caftan gown serves as a striking statement piece for vintage clothing collectors of boho chic.
