Dating to the 1970s, this men's three-piece suit was retailed by Fashion Bar in Colorado. Constructed of a grey wool woven fabric featuring a fine Prince of Wales Glen plaid accented with subtle pink overcheck lines, the ensemble comprises a jacket, matching vest, and trousers. The jacket is styled with wide notch lapels, a two-button front closure, flap hip pockets, a single back vent, and a vibrant green satin interior lining. The coordinating vest features a five-button front, four welt pockets, and a green satin back panel with an adjustable cinch belt. The trousers feature a straight leg cut, belt loops, and rear welt pockets. An interior jacket pocket retains a woven retailer label reading "Fashion Bar, COLORADO". Jacket measures 18 in across shoulders, 21 in across armpits (42 in total chest), and 30 in overall length; vest measures 20 in across armpits (40 in total chest); trousers measure 17.5 in waist laid flat (35 in total waist) and 30 in inseam. Condition is consistent with age and heavy wear, showing several condition issues as detailed in the close-up photos. The trousers display noticeable fabric tears, holes and moth nibbles near the base of the front fly placket, along with a tear to the inner jacket lining seamand scattered small moth holes/nibbles across the jacket back and collar area. Buttons, pocket tailoring, and zippers remain functional. This example captures quintessential 1970s regional department store tailoring and classic Glen plaid patterns, offering display potential and reference value for vintage clothing collectors.
