Dating to the late 1960s or 1970s, this men's plaid sport coat was manufactured in the United States by Palm Beach. Tailored from a synthetic knit fabric in a Glen plaid pattern featuring ivory, black, brown, and red overchecks, the single-breasted blazer is styled with wide notch lapels, a two-button front closure, a left chest pocket, dual lower flap pockets, and a center back vent. The half-lined interior retains a woven "TAILORED BY Palm Beach" maker label, an interior spec tag reading "SIZE38 R", and an ACWA union label sewn inside the pocket. Condition shows fair to poor integrity in the lining, exhibiting heavy tearing, fraying, and lining loss around the armholes and lower inner lining, along with discolored lining repair patches. The outer knit shell displays visible wear including snagging, pull tears, and mended holes on both sleeves, as well as light collar soiling. Shoulder-to-shoulder measures 17", pit-to-pit measures 20", overall length from back collar to hem is 31",and sleeve length is 24". This example reflects classic mid-century Ivy League styling and bold 1970s knit pattern design, offering a character-rich piece in the Palm Beach tailoring tradition for vintage garment repair, study, or theatrical wardrobecollections.
