Mossberg Maverick Model 88 12ga

Updated August 24, 2026

This Mossberg Maverick Model 88 pump-action shotgun is chambered in 12 gauge and offers a traditional sporting configuration with an approximately 28" ventilated-rib barrel and shiny bore. Serial number MV02620U, this example is in fair overall condition and utilizes a receiver paired with conventional synthetic sporting furniture and a full-length grip and stock. The ribbed barrel gives the shotgun the familiar lines associated with field and clay-target guns. Visible rust is present throughout the firearm, and bidders should carefully review the photographs for the extent and location of the corrosion. The Maverick 88 is produced within the Mossberg family and shares much of its design heritage with the famous Mossberg 500, helping it become a familiar value-oriented pump shotgun. Despite the exterior wear and rust, this example retains its classic sporting proportions and shiny bore, making it an interesting candidate for cleanup, restoration, or field use after appropriate inspection.
