Winchester Model 70 Lightweight .270 WIN

Updated August 24, 2026

This Winchester Model 70 Lightweight bolt-action rifle is chambered in .270 Winchester and combines one of America’s most iconic sporting-rifle designs with a classic hunting cartridge. Serial number G1835784, this example features an approximately 22" barrel with a shiny bore and remains in good overall condition. The rifle wears attractive checkered wood furniture with a traditional sporting grip profile, giving it the timeless appearance associated with classic Winchester hunting rifles. The steel receiver and bolt-action assembly retain the familiar Model 70 configuration that earned the rifle its enduring reputation among generations of American sportsmen. The Lightweight variation offers a handier interpretation of the platform without sacrificing its traditional appearance. Introduced in the 1930s, the Winchester Model 70 became so respected that it earned the nickname “The Rifleman’s Rifle.” Chambered in the equally classic .270 Winchester, this example offers an excellent blend of American sporting history, handsome wood, and traditional bolt-action styling.
