Lot 7010a – Bannerman Spencer Model 1896 pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge with a 32" barrel. This fascinating antique shotgun represents one of the more unique chapters in American firearms history, manufactured by Francis Bannerman, the legendary military surplus dealer whose name became synonymous with historic firearms and military equipment at the turn of the century. The barrel is marked “SPENCER RPTG. SHOT GUN PAT. APL. 1882,” reflecting the design lineage that traces back to the innovative Spencer repeating firearms. Featuring a pump-action design, checkered walnut stock and forearm, exposed hammerless receiver profile, and substantial 32" barrel, this shotgun offers tremendous historical appeal. The metal surfaces display an attractive dark aged patina consistent with its age, while the wood exhibits normal handling wear expected from a firearm over a century old. Bannerman firearms are increasingly difficult to locate and highly desirable among collectors of early American repeating shotguns.
