German Mauser K98k Mod. 98 byf 45 8mm

Offered is a desirable late-World War II German Mauser K98k Mod. 98 bolt-action military rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser and fitted with an approximately 24" barrel. The receiver is prominently marked “Mod. 98” and “byf 45,” identifying production by Mauser-Werke at Oberndorf in 1945, during the final year of World War II. Serial number 10330 is present on the receiver, along with visible German eagle proof and acceptance markings. Numerous components display “135” or WaA135-style Waffenamt inspection markings associated with Mauser Oberndorf production. The rifle retains its full-length laminated wood stock and handguard, steel buttplate, barrel bands, military sights, and turned-down bolt handle. The stock shows handling marks, staining, discoloration, and wear consistent with its age and military history, while the metal surfaces show scattered scratches, visible rust, finish loss, and general service wear. The bore is shiny and overall condition is good. The bolt serial number does not match the receiver, so this should not be considered an all-matching example. Nevertheless, its late-war 1945 production, German military markings, and classic configuration give this K98k tremendous historical character and collector appeal. Please see photos.
