James Woodward London antique side-by-side percussion shotgun featuring 30” Damascus barrels. This elegant mid-19th century English sporting gun showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and refinement that made James Woodward one of London’s premier gunmakers. The shotgun features finely engraved lockplates, hammers, breech areas, and trigger guard with detailed English scrollwork throughout, paired with an attractive walnut stock displaying classic checkering and graceful English game gun styling. The long Damascus barrels have developed a pleasing aged patina consistent with an authentic black powder sporting arm of the period. Features include dual exposed hammers, double triggers, rib-mounted ramrod, and traditional percussion ignition system. The firearm is marked “James Woodward London” with serial number 2907 visible. Metal surfaces show honest age, handling wear, and scattered patina throughout, giving the piece outstanding antique character and appeal. James Woodward firearms are highly sought after by collectors due to the maker’s prestigious reputation in the English gun trade and historical significance among early British sporting arms. A beautiful example of a London-made percussion double that would make an excellent addition to any antique firearms or English sporting collection. Antique firearm. Please see photos.
