1900 Barber Silver Quarter Circulated Coin 1900 Barber Silver Quarter Circulated Pocket Piece This 1900 Barber Silver Quarter is a classic example of United States coinage from the turn of the century. Composed of 90% silver, this circulated coin features the iconic Liberty head design by Charles E. Barber on the obverse and the heraldic eagle on the reverse. The coin shows significant wear consistent with its age and long history in circulation, giving it a smooth, honest patina often sought after by collectors of "pocket piece" or "filler" coins. The date 1900 is clearly visible on the obverse, and while the mint mark on the reverse is heavily worn, the coin remains a tangible piece of American history from the Victorian era. This silver quarter is an excellent addition for those looking to complete a date set or for collectors who appreciate the character of well-traveled vintage silver coinage. 1900-O Barber Silver Quarter Circulated Coin Condition: This coin is in heavily circulated condition, showing significant wear across both the obverse and reverse. The Liberty head profile is flat with no remaining detail in the hair or crown, and the date is visible but worn. On the reverse, the eagle's features, including feathers and the shield, are mostly worn away, and the legend is partially faint. Based on the lack of detail and heavy smoothing of the surfaces, it would grade in the Good to About Good range. The mint mark O is visible below the eagle. This coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. It was struck at the New Orleans Mint for business circulation. Designed by Charles E. Barber, this series was a staple of American commerce during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The New Orleans Mint was one of the primary southern branch mints of the United States, and coins bearing the O mint mark are highly collectible as the mint ceased operations in 1909. This is a standard business strike.
