Two cast metal standing spotted deer, roughly 16 inches, each standing directly on its four hooves with no integral base. These are a solid cast copper alloy, and the evidence is worth stating. The antler stubs on both animals are cut flat, and the exposed cross section is dense fine grained warm golden metal with no core, void or filler, which rules out resin and spelter. Pale blue green verdigris sits in the ear cavities, necks, shoulders and legs, and verdigris only forms on copper alloys. Where the dark patina is worn through, the metal reads warm yellow gold, which points to brass rather than true bronze, so they are offered here as cast brass. No foundry mark, signature or edition number is visible, though the bellies were not photographed. Note they are not a facing pair, both are the same casting in the same pose. Condition is good. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors. Please review all photos before bidding.
