Bendix Westinghouse BW Dual Trumpet Air Horn

Dual trumpet air horn assembly, and the maker identification here is worth reading. The mark is the letters BW inside a cast diamond, and it appears four times, on both diaphragm caps, on the manifold web and in a cartouche on each trumpet. That diamond BW is Bendix-Westinghouse Automotive Air Brake Company of Elyria, Ohio, a different company from the Westinghouse railroad side, so this is a truck horn rather than a locomotive horn and is not offered as railroadiana. Cast numbers read T-212688 on both caps, 231437 on the manifold and a handed matched pair of trumpets marked T-212678-A and T-212679 A. The trumpets are bare spun alloy, not chrome, and are of unequal length as a tuned pair. Both caps are present with all screws. No valve, hose or fitting is attached and the ID tag is missing. Condition is fair with heavy fastener rust and pitting on both bells. Untested. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
