Antique 1887 Victorian-era illustrated marriage certificate for Richard Philip Rolf of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Ida Augusta Pynn of Delafield, Wisconsin. The certificate records their marriage at Delafield, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, on December 7, 1887. Features an ornate period design with a wedding ring and church scene, bell tower, doves, flowers, birds, clasped hands, and decorative "Bonds of Holy Matrimony" lettering. The original wedding invitation is retained on the back of the frame and identifies the couple as Ida A. Pynn and Richard P. Rolf, with the ceremony held Wednesday, December 7, 1887, at noon at the residence of the bride's parents in Delafield, Wisconsin. The invitation has separated along its center fold. Certificate has wear consistent with age and storage, including tears, cracking, staining/discoloration, creasing, edge losses, and missing portions, including a larger loss at the lower right. Frame has scratches, scuffs, finish wear, and other wear from age, use, and storage. Please review photos for condition and completeness. Framed piece measures approximately 14" x 11". A particularly interesting piece of 1880s Wisconsin history with its accompanying original wedding invitation.
