This large decorative footed compote by Lady Primrose is crafted from a silver-toned metal with a hand-hammered texture throughout the bowl and a lobed rim. The exterior of the bowl is embellished with applied floral and foliate motifs in an Art Nouveau style. The vessel is supported by a tall, cylindrical stem resting on a tiered and weighted circular base. A circular sticker in the interior center of the bowl is marked Lady Primrose and includes the text Please dispose of water after each use. Dallas - London. A warning label on the base reads NOT FOR FOOD USE / Article May Poison Food / For Decorative Use Only / Made in India. Height approx. 14.5 inches Diameter approx. 9.5 inches (Dimensions measured against a tape measure). Condition: The piece shows overall surface tarnish, oxidation, and wear to the metallic finish, most notably inside the bowl. The manufacturer labels are stained and aged.
