Friendship Pottery Mixing Bowl & Signed Studio Jar

This lot includes a Friendship Pottery 6-quart mixing bowl and a signed studio pottery jar. The mixing bowl, manufactured in Roseville, Ohio, is constructed of glazed stoneware with a monochromatic cream-colored finish. The form features awide flared rim and five molded horizontal bands encircling the body. The base is marked with an impressed backstamp identifying the capacity as 6qt. and the maker as Friendship Pottery USA, with the location noted as Roseville, Ohio. Thesecond item is a wheel-thrown stoneware vessel of globular form with a flared rim. The exterior displays horizontal throwing rings and is decorated with a multicolored reactive drip glaze in bands of teal, indigo, violet, and brown. Theinterior is glazed in a solid dark brown. The unglazed reddish-brown clay base is hand-signed with the initials A L in dark pigment and retains five green felt adhesive pads.Both pieces are in excellent overall condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or restorations. Minor shelf wear is present on the unglazed foot rims.
