Burnished ceramic turtle handcrafted by the artisans of Tonala, Mexico, painted with floral motifs, the base lettered "Mexico," 4" high x 17" long, chip to underside of tip of tail, scattered small areas of wear. The town of Tonala has a long history with clay, and these pieces are made by skilled artisans using techniques passed down for generations. Decorative elements often include animals and botanical motifs.
