of Shipibo Serving Bowls Master Shipibo-Konibo Ceramics. This exceptional pair of hand-crafted Shipibo-Konibo serving bowls was created by renowned Peruvian master artisan Adela Panduro Silvano, one of the foremost contemporary representatives of the Shipibo-Konibo ceramic tradition. Beautifully hand-built using ancestral techniques passed down through generations, these vessels preserve the traditional forms once used by Shipibo families for serving and sharing food during daily life and communal gatherings, while simultaneously standing as refined works of contemporary Indigenous art. Each bowl has been individually formed, burnished, and decorated entirely by hand with intricate kene designs executed using traditional natural pigments. Within Shipibo-Konibo culture, these geometric compositions represent a sophisticated ancestral visual language associated with harmony, spirituality, nature, and the transmission of traditional knowledge. Although conceived as a complementary pair, each bowl features its own distinctive decorative composition, making every piece entirely unique. The contrasting earth-toned palettes create an especially attractive visual dialogue. One vessel presents warm cream, ochre, and brown geometric motifs, while the companion bowl displays rich reddish-brown and chocolate tones with finely executed linear kene decoration. Together they demonstrate the remarkable versatility of Shipibo-Konibo ceramic design while maintaining perfect visual harmony as a matched pair. Beyond their decorative beauty, these bowls reflect the enduring continuity of Amazonian ceramic traditions. Similar forms were historically used for serving food and beverages within Shipibo households, where handcrafted pottery formed an essential part of everyday family life. The present pair successfully combines this functional heritage with refined craftsmanship, making them equally suitable for display or as outstanding examples of living Indigenous artistic tradition. Works by the artist have previously been presented through auctions organized by the Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI). ARTIST Adela Panduro Silvano (Pucallpa, Peru, b. 1970) is one of Peru's most celebrated contemporary Shipibo-Konibo ceramic artists.
