Antique steamer trunk with original brass "Excelsior" lock hardware, restored in December 1991 (documented by handwritten note inside the lid: "Restored Dec. 1991 by Carroll & Dorothy Babcock, Kenesaw, Ne."). Black japanned metal exterior with brass corner guards, decorative hardware, and leather straps with buckles Wood slat banding around the body Interior fully relined with cheerful yellow polka-dot paper — clean and bright condition Working lock mechanism (Excelsior brand) Condition: exterior shows honest wear consistent with age — scuffing on the black finish, some brass tarnish; interior lining is in excellent condition thanks to the 1991 restoration (visible in photos). A wonderful antique trunk with documented restoration history, ready for use as storage, a coffee table base, or straight display.
