Seller: Sophia Salazar Group Affiliation: Palermo Grange Species: Swine Hello! My name is Sophia Salazar, I am 10 years old & a student at Wilson Elementary school In Gridley. This is my first year to be a member of the Youth Palermo Grange. This is | also my first year to raise a market hog for the Butte County Fair. My market hogs name is Ella, she is a crossbred pig. I named her Ella because my favorite country singer is Ella Langley. I purchased her in March and have been feeding her Primo pig feeds & supplements. My favorite thing about Ella is that she likes to spin and play when we exercise. She also has a funny personality. My goal with Ella at the fair is to go to Round Robin. To achieve this goal I will have to win my swine showmanship class at the fair. Round Robin is a special showmanship competition that all the first place showmen in each species show against one another for an overall champion showmen. I will be showing Ella on Thursday August 27th at 8:00 am in the swine arena in her Market Class and swine showmanship. I would like to invite you to the Butte County Fair Jr. Livestock Auction on Saturday August 29th starting at 10am. There will also be a buyers Breakfast starting at 8am! If you are unable to make the auction in person but would like to support my project by making a donation you are able to donate any amount via add online through bidcal.com August 28- September 4th. Any donations to my project will make a difference. I have worked very hard this year with Ella to make sure she is ready for sale day. I walk my pig once a day, feed her morning and night and also do her skin and hair routine. Ella has been an awesome first project for me, any profits I make I will save for my next project and add to my college savings account.
