Seller: Zane Rollins Group Affiliation: Independent Species: Turkey To Whom it may concern, My name is Zane Rollins; I am ten years old. I will be exhibiting a market turkey at theButte County Fair. I will be exhibiting as an independent because there was not a poultry project in my 4H group for me to be a part of this year. With the threat of AvianFlu over we are hoping to start a poultry group with Shasta 4-H so that next year I can show my turkey as a 4-H member. A few things that interest me besides raising animals are; I love playing sports, really any sport but my favorite sports are wrestling and football. I also love fishing. This summer I would ride my bike to a neighbor's pond and fish as often as I could. I also really enjoy spending time with my cousins; I am lucky to have 2 boy cousins close to my age that live very close to me. Although I have never showed a turkey, my family has been raising turkeys forThanksgiving for the last several years. I have learned how to raise and care for turkeys. I also learned how to walk a turkey. The funny thing is it's very similar to how I walk my pig. The hardest part for me is flipping the turkey upside down. You flip the turkey upside down during the show so the judge can judge the quality and quantity of your turkey's meat. I learned that turkey breast is the most valuable cut of meat from aturkey.am so excited to show my turkey at the Butte County Fair this month. I would like to invite you to watch the turkey show on Wednesday, August 26th. I am sure you will not be disappointed because it is very funny to see people walking turkeys with a stick. If you can't come to the turkey show I'm inviting you to support the Butte County Fair livestock auction where youth will be selling steers, pigs, sheep, goats, bunnies,chickens and turkeys.
