Seller: Tyler McMain Group Affiliation: Las Plumas FFA Species: Sheep My name is Tyler McMain. I am sophomore at Las Plumas High School and a member of LP FFA. This Butte County Fair will be my second fair with a project animal, and I am excited to say that I am loving it! My wether lamb’s name is Butte. I work with him several times a week preparing him for the fair. He is wildly energetic and loves to play with his pen mates; which includes a mini horse, Pygmy goats and his triplet ewe lamb sister. I have learned so much raising this market lamb. Alongside of daily care and maintenance for a market animal, I have learned how to manage finances for a project, meeting deadlines for my Chapter, fair requirements, about average daily gain, standard health for lambs, proper showmanship techniques and how important local communities are to make Ag programs like FFA and 4H possible. I am also involved in other extracurriculars. I am a member of the FarmPower team, throw in track, and play as a linemen on the football team. I also maintain above average grades. In the spring of 2026, I was awarded with top ten percent of GPA’s for my freshman class. I am challenging myself to do it every year! I am big into agriculture and I am taking two Ag classes this year; which are Welding + Construction and Ag Soil Chemistry. When I’m not busy with school or sports I can be found outside hunting and fishing. I would like to invite you to the lamb show and the livestock auction at Butte County Fair. The lamb show takes place on Thursday, August 27th starting at 8am. The livestock auction will be Saturday, August 29th beginning at 10am. Thank you for your time and supporting our community.
