Seller: Alannah Inguanzo Group Affiliation: Manzanita 4-H Species: Rabbit My name is Alannah, and I am 10 years old and a proud member of the Manzanita 4-H Club. This is my first in 4-H and my first year raising and showing market rabbits, and I am so excited to share my project with you! This year, I am raising a very special and rare breed of rabbit called the Silver Fox. Silver Fox rabbits are a unique breed that has a very interesting history. In 2006, the Silver Fox rabbit was placed on the endangered list because of the decline in demand for colored fur, as more people began wanting white fur instead. Over the years, the Silver Fox breed became very rare. I am so excited that this year, the Silver Fox rabbit has finally been removed from the endangered list! I feel very lucky to be raising and showing such a special breed during such an important time in its history. Silver Fox rabbits are a great dual-purpose breed because they can be raised for both their meat and their beautiful fur. One of the most special things about Silver Fox rabbits is their amazing fur. When you rub their fur backward, it stands up instead of laying flat. They also have beautiful silver-tipped hairs throughout their coat that give them a gorgeous, shimmering appearance. Raising my rabbits has taught me about responsibility, patience, animal care, and hard work. Every day, I make sure my rabbits have fresh food and water, a clean home, and plenty of care and attention. I have learned that raising an animal for a market project is a big responsibility, but it is also a lot of fun and very rewarding. I hope you will consider supporting me and my 4-H project by purchasing my market rabbit at the auction. Your support means so much to me and helps me continue learning and growing through 4-H.
