Jim Dester Sycamore, IL 5.5" long A consistent winner of top honors including Best of Shows, Desters calls represent some of the finest carved contemporary calls produced. Dester is regarded as the innovator of the fish scale and basket weave design displayed on this call. Regarding the appeal of his technique, past President of the Call Collectors Association of American (CCAA), Bill Orgain stated in a 2006 CCAA article, “Your fish-scale pattern is unlike anything being crafted today. Your call is a magnet to the eye...you have to pick it up...hold it in your hands...and slowly rotate it around, in awe of the precision of the scales’ spacing and beauty it evokes.” The call is single reed, with a threaded screw insert, and is signed and dated J.
