Charles William Grubbs (1848-1933) Chicago, IL 4" long Charles Grubbs is arguably one of the earliest pioneers of modern duck calls. According to his own hunting catalog and testimony, Grubbs made the "first commercial duck call” that was available to the market in 1868. Grubbs started the Undercliff Hotel and Summer Resort along the shore of Lake Senachwine, a backwater lake along the banks of the famed Illinois River where he guided and hunted for the market. 29 Condition: Very good and original.
