"JC Penney" 8 Track AM/FM Turntable Play/Record

Vintage JCPenney combination stereo system, Model 683-1742, featuring an integrated 8-track tape player/recorder, AM/FM radio, and record turntable. This all-in-one home audio unit is a great example of vintage 1970s-era stereo equipment and retro hi-fi electronics. The turntable is designed to play 33 and 45 RPM records and retains its stylus. The unit powers on and the turntable spins, and the control knobs turn as they should. It also features plug-and-play speaker connections for external speakers. No speakers were available during testing, so the radio, 8-track playback/recording, audio output, and other functions have not been tested and are not guaranteed. Cosmetically, the stereo presents well overall for its age. The clear turntable dust cover has visible cup/ring marks that could not be removed during cleaning and may be heat-related or melted into the plastic. Otherwise, the unit shows general age-appropriate cosmetic wear from use and storage. A fun piece for collectors of vintage JCPenney electronics, 8-track players, record players, turntables, AM/FM stereos, analog audio equipment, retro hi-fi systems, and 1970s home audio.
