Offered is a 1944 Walking Liberty Half Dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This classic World War II-era U.S. silver half dollar is part of one of America's most popular coin series. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, and overall appearance. The Walking Liberty Half Dollar was designed by renowned sculptor Adolph A. Weinman and was produced from 1916 through 1947. The obverse features Liberty walking toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag and carrying branches, while the reverse depicts an eagle perched on a rock with its wings raised. The 1944 Philadelphia issue had a mintage of 28,206,000 coins. It was struck in 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver. Philadelphia issues carry no mint mark.
