A stunning pair of mid-century Brutalist-style end tables featuring an exceptional tri-material construction. The side panels are crafted from highly textured pecky cypress, a coveted wood known for its dramatic, naturally occurring voids and deep, dark-stained pockets. These rugged wooden panels are encased in thick, geometric frames of gilt-finished iron with clean mitered edges. The tabletops feature dark-tinted smoked glass inserts that sit flush with the metal frames, while the lower shelves are made of heavy, light-grey veined marble slabs. This sophisticated mix of rugged, organic texture and sleek, modernist materials epitomizes the high-end Organic Modern and Brutalist design movements of the 1960s and 1970s. In terms of condition, the pair is in excellent vintage condition. The gilt iron frames show a beautiful, gentle patina with only minor surface wear, light scuffs, and no structural compromises. The pecky cypress wood panels remain structurally sound with deep, intact natural character and rich coloration. The smoked glass tops are free of deep scratches, chips, or cracks, showing only minor hairline wear consistent with age, and the lower marble shelves are clean, solid, and free of notable staining or fractures. Measure 17"H x 22"W x 22"D each.
