A Yaecon 9-transistor portable radio, identified as model YTR-921. The unit features a cream-coloured plastic cabinet with a metallic silver-tone front panel and a perforated metal speaker grille. It is designed with a horizontal analogue slide-rule dial supporting two bands: Broadcast (BC) and Shortwave (SW). Functional components include a combined tuning and battery strength meter, a sliding light switch, and a thumbwheel control for combined volume and power. The side of the cabinet houses two earphone jacks, while the rear features a phono input jack. A telescopic antenna is mounted to the top. The front of the radio bears a YAECON badge and is marked 9 TRANSISTOR and SUPER SENSITIVE. The rear is embossed with MADE IN JAPAN and PHONO IN. The radio is accompanied by its original brown leather protective carrying case with a shoulder strap, which is embossed with the YAECON name. Dimensions: approx. L 19 cm x H 10 cm x D 4 cm (measured against a ruler). Condition: The plastic cabinet shows significant yellowing consistent with age and accumulated surface grime. There is visible oxidation and pitting to the metallic front panel and control switches. The brown leather carrying case is in poor condition, displaying extensive material loss, cracking, and deterioration along the top edges and corners. The unit is sold as untested.
