A vintage circular double compact mirror constructed from silver-toned metal. The lid features a decorative panel with a pearlescent cream-coloured ground, decorated with a printed illustration of a peacock perched on a gnarled branch amongst pink and red peonies. The compact opens via a push-button release and a rear hinge to reveal two circular mirrors. The reverse of the casing is finished in polished silver-toned metal. Diameter approx. 7 cm (measured against a ruler; note: only inches shown on scale). Condition: The item is in good vintage condition. There is visible surface scratching and some minor pitting to the exterior metalwork, most notably on the reverse. The interior mirrors show some light spotting and dust. The hinge and clasp are in working order.
