A pair of mid-20th century vintage evening bags of a style associated with Hong Kong manufacture. Both clutches are constructed with a cream satin base and feature extensive hand-embellished decoration. The first bag is decorated with panels of iridescent sequins and vertical rows of cream glass seed beads, further accented with raised three-dimensional floral motifs crafted from sequins and centred with faux pearls. This bag is fitted with a gold-tone metal frame, a top clasp, and a gold-tone curb link chain handle. The second bag features an overall swirling pattern of glass seed beads interspersed with iridescent sequins. It is finished with a gold-tone metal frame, a top clasp, and a gold-tone snake chain handle. Both bags have cream satin-lined interiors, each with a single slip pocket. Condition: Both items are in good vintage condition. The beadwork and sequin embellishments are well-preserved and largely intact. The gold-tone hardware shows light surface wear and minor tarnishing consistent with age. The satin linings are generally clean with minimal signs of use.
