A contemporary Neoclassical style demilune laundry hamper of painted wood construction. The storage cabinet features a flat back designed to sit flush against a wall and a semi-circular front panel decorated with raised moldings forming acentral shaped panel. Flanking the central panel are two vertical columns of carved husks and acanthus leaf motifs. The piece rests on a scalloped, carved apron with a central leaf design supported by four short, curved legs ending in padfeet. The top lid is secured with a long metal piano hinge and a small magnetic catch, opening to reveal a single interior compartment. The interior is fitted with a removable off-white fabric liner bag. The exterior is finished in adistressed cream paint with a dark antiquing glaze applied to the recesses to highlight the carvings and moldings. 25 inches tall by 20 inches wide by 13 inches deep.This piece shows expected minor age wear & use. Light scuffs and paint chips are present on the lid and base with some light discoloration to the interior fabric liner.
