Italian Hand-Painted & Enamel Green Porc. Urn Lamp

This Neoclassical style table lamp is constructed with a white hard-paste porcelain urn-shaped body mounted on a gilded metal base. The central porcelain section features a hand-painted floral cartouche depicting polychrome roses, framedby a repeating green and gold trellis pattern. The neck is decorated with vertical recessed bands and gilded beadwork, following an enamel cut to green porcelain technique. Twin white scroll handles are uniquely entwined with applied greenand gold serpents. The assembly is supported by a tiered square gilded metal base with a beaded border. The lamp is fitted with a cream-colored pleated fabric drum shade finished with gold corded trim. Electrical components include abrass-tone socket with a black turn-knob switch and a modern clear-ribbed plastic-covered cord with a two-prong polarized plug, indicating the lamp has been previously rewired. 30 inches tall including finial.This lamp shows expected light surface wear to the metal base due to its age. The porcelain body and fabric shade remain in fine condition with no visible damage or repairs.
