An excellent example of American high-Victorian craftsmanship, this antique silver-plated teapot was manufactured by the Webster Manufacturing Company of New York, dating circa 1860–1870. The piece showcases iconic eclectic styling from the Aesthetic Movement era. The hinged, domed lid is surmounted by the maker's signature figural prancing stallion finial. The bulbous body features intricate, chased geometric scrollwork and floral medallion patterning. It is supported by four ornate cabriole legs featuring molded lion-head busts terminating in classic hoof feet. The angular handle retains its original ivory-toned heat-insulating rings. Marked to the underside with the Webster Mfg. Co. maker's stamp. Fair condition, showing signs of wear consistent with age and regular use. The hinge is missing its original pin, rendering the lid loose/unattached. The body exhibits scattered minor dents. Tarnish and light wear to the silver plating are present on high points, see pictures for details on condition
