A square Tonalá stoneware baking dish from the El Palomar workshop featuring hand-painted folk art decoration. The interior depicts a stylized bird amongst botanical scrolls and flowers in blue and brown underglaze tones. A hand-painted mark on the side reads MEX followed by a circled G, denoting production from the workshop established by Ken Edwards and Jorge Wilmot.Length: 8.5 inchesWidth: 7.75 inchesHeight: 1.75 inches.Item displays a visible one-inch hairline crack at one corner rim and fine glaze crazing throughout the interior. The unglazed underside shows minor surface scuffing and shelf wear consistent with age. No chips or repairs are noted.
