This large stoneware vessel is a flattened flask-shaped vase crafted in the Tonala region of Jalisco, Mexico. The hand-painted decoration features a central bird and floral medallion surrounded by repeating brown dabs, a style characteristic of the Ken Edwards workshop. The narrow sides and tapered neck are finished in a semi-matte sage green glaze.Height: 13.5 inchesWidth: 10.5 inches.A tight horizontal firing crack is present across the center of the unglazed base. The piece exhibits minor glaze irregularities inherent to hand-crafted studio pottery but is otherwise free of chips or repairs.
