Taking the Oath and Drawing Rations is a famous 1865 painted plaster sculpture by American artist John Rogers. Modeled at the close of the American Civil War, it became his most critically acclaimed piece and his personal favorite. Copies of this historic artwork are currently held in prominent collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
