The 1976-S Proof Type-2 Eisenhower Dollar is the sharp-lettering, high-relief Bicentennial proof variety struck at the San Francisco Mint. The Type-2 reverse is defined by thin, crisp lettering and a more refined Liberty Bell/Moon design. It is one of the most collected Ike proof varieties and appears only in 1976-S clad proof sets (not circulation). A San Francisco–minted clad proof Eisenhower dollar with the Type-2 Bicentennial reverse, featuring thin, delicate lettering and a higher-relief strike. Mint mark: "S" below Eisenhower’s neck (proof only). Obverse: Dual-dated 1776-1976 with Eisenhower portrait. Reverse (Type-2): Thin, sharp lettering (“UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “ONE DOLLAR”). Higher-relief Liberty Bell and Moon. More refined serifs compared to Type-1. Composition: Copper-nickel clad (75% Cu / 25% Ni over pure copper). Weight: 22.70 g; Diameter: 38.50 mm.
