One set of approximately 32 turned wooden chess pieces in contrasting light and dark finishes, appearing to comprise 16 pieces per side: king, queen, two bishops, two knights, two rooks, and eight pawns. The pieces have traditional Staunton-styleforms, with carved horse-head knights and tiered circular bases; no maker mark, signature, label, or other readable marking is visible. A black-and-white chessboard is shown beneath the pieces, but its inclusion is unconfirmed. Used conditionoverall, with finish variation, scuffs, scratches, abrasions, and handling wear. The dark knight shows notable surface abrasion and finish loss to the carved head, neck, body, and base, with a worn or uneven green-colored underside pad. The centrallight king's top finial appears irregular or possibly chipped, and the dark rook's crenellated top detailing appears worn. No major breaks or losses are clearly visible, although undersides and all pieces have not been fully inspected.
