Pair of South Dakota cigarette-tax revenue stamps: one reddish-brown 2-cent issue and one blue 3-cent issue. Both are perforated and bear the inscriptions “State of South Dakota†and “CIGARETTE TAX,†with matching central bird designs. The cacard identifies them as “EARLY S. DAKOTA CIGARETTE REVENUE TAX ISSUES.†Both stamps show fading, discoloration, uneven yellowing, and some worn or irregular perforation tips. Unused status, gum, hinge marks, cancellation, reverse condition, thinntears, creases, and repairs are not established from the photographs. The catalog card is display/context material and is not an additional included piece.
