1995 Hong Kong Twenty Cents Copper Nickel Coin 1995 Hong Kong 20 Cents Scalloped Edge Nickel-Brass Coin KM# 67 This 1995 Hong Kong Twenty Cents coin is a distinctive numismatic piece featuring a unique scalloped edge with 12 notches. Minted in nickel-brass, the obverse prominently displays the Bauhinia flower, which became the floral emblem of Hong Kong, surrounded by the name of the territory in both English and Chinese characters. The reverse indicates the denomination with a large 20 and the year of issue. This specific coin is housed in a protective cardboard 2x2 flip labeled with the KM# 67 catalog reference. As a late-colonial era design released just years before the 1997 handover, this circulted uncirculated specimen represents a significant period in Hong Kong's history. The coin exhibits a bright brassy luster typical of its composition. 1995 Hong Kong 20 Cents Bauhinia Flower Scalloped Edge Nickel-Brass Coin Condition: The coin appears to be in circulated condition with visible toning and spotting across both the obverse and reverse surfaces. The details of the Bauhinia flower and the denomination remain clear, though the luster is muted by oxidation. The scalloped edges show minor signs of handling. The strike is a standard business strike. The metal content is nickel-brass. This 1995 issue features the Bauhinia flower, which replaced the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II during the transition period leading up to the 1997 handover of Hong Kong to China. It was minted by the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, United Kingdom. No official grade has been assigned by a third-party grading service.
