Vintage double-sided cast iron railroad destination indicator sign reading "The Crescent Limited and Palmetto Limited." Featuring raised yellow lettering against a deep red background, this substantial sign was used to identify the boarding location or destination for the Crescent Limited and Palmetto Limited passenger trains. Both sides retain their original painted finish with expected wear, scattered paint loss, and oxidation consistent with age and railroad use. A protruding mounting tab on each side is cast with the number "8," likely denoting the assigned track, platform, or station location where the trains boarded. Constructed of heavy cast iron with integral mounting tabs, this is an impressive and authentic piece of American railroad history. 30" x 15".
