40s Mexican Tourism Poster "General Popo" Helguera

Original Mexican tourism advertising poster titled General Popo, issued by the Departamento de Turismo - Secretaria de Gobernacion. The dramatic image, after a design by celebrated Mexican artist Jesus Helguera, depicts an allegorical female figure holding the Mexican flag flanked by a revolutionary soldier and agricultural worker, with prominent national landmarks and patriotic imagery in the background. Printed by Lito-Leosa, Mexico, with tourism promotion text and period government sponsorship markings. A striking example of mid-20th century Mexican graphic design and travel advertising, combining Helguera's highly recognizable romantic realism with nationalist themes. Retains vivid color and strong visual impact. Poster remains wrapped and appears to be an original period printing rather than a later reproduction. 26" x 20" unframed. Jesus Helguera (1910-1971) was one of Mexico's most influential commercial artists and illustrators.
