Original Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad promotional broadside titled "The Steel Highways Are Always Open", encouraging travel on the South Shore Line, North Shore Line, and Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad ("The Sunset Lines"). The illustration promotes fast, frequent electrified rail service as an alternative to highway traffic and includes route maps, station listings, and period graphics. The broadside is accompanied by its original mailed informational envelope addressed to Batavia, Illinois, bearing an April 30, 1929 Aurora, Illinois postmark and enclosed within the same frame. Presented in a later black frame. Visible toning, folds, staining, and edge wear consistent with age. Framed size: 30" x 11".
