R Serial # 95537. .270 Win. caliber bolt action rifle with a 20” barrel. The bore is excellent, clean with strong rifling. Made in 1948. The rifle has been customized by replacing or re-profiling the barrel and cutting it back to 20”. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in very good to excellent condition showing light muzzle wear with some scattered fine scratches. The blued finish on the receiver is in very good condition showing little wear with some finish loss due to previously mounted scope bases. The blued finish on the steel floor plate and trigger guard is in good condition showing edge wear with scratches and some light freckling. The checkered walnut stock with a Schnabel nose has oak leaf carving and a custom grip cap and is in very good condition showing scattered light marks and scratches with light finish wear. Black rubber recoil pad. Made without sights. The bolt is not numbered. The action works fine. Includes a Leupold Vari-X IIc 3-9x40 scope in Weaver mounts. C&R.
