R Serial # 595. 16 Ga. hammer fired double barrel shotgun with 30” Damascus barrels. The bores are fair, dirty with moderate pitting. The barrels are both choked Cylinder. Lefacheaux under lever action. Double triggers with extractors. C. Thomas Hofmann was a German gunmaker who was active during the late 1800’s in the Black Forest region of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The metal finish on the Damascus barrels is a cleaned gray patina with scratches, faint Damascus pattern is visible. The right barrel has some light dings. The engraved frame, lock plates underlever and trigger guard are a dark brownish gray patina showing light wear. Bone finger grip located behind the trigger guard. The checkered walnut forearm with a bone tip is held with a wedge and is in good condition showing wear to the checkering with light marks. The matching butt stock is in good condition as well showing wear to the checkering with light dings and scratches along with finish wear. Steel butt plate with an LoP of 13-3/4”. European style swivel. The action works fine and is tight.
