1939 Mercury dime (Winged Liberty Head / Mercury Head dime), 90% silver.Key detailsDate: 1939 (clear on the obverse below the neck).Mint mark: Present on the reverse, to the left of the lower fasces (near the olive branch / above “ONE DIME” area). This makes it either a 1939-D (Denver) or 1939-S (San Francisco). Philadelphia coins have no mint mark. The mark is small and partially obscured by toning/dirt in the photo, but it is visible.Composition: 90% silver, 10% copper; actual silver weight ˜ 0.0723 troy oz.Condition: Circulated with moderate-to-heavy wear.Obverse: Liberty’s hair, cheek, and wing details are flattened/smoothed on the high points; date and lettering remain clear.Reverse: Fasces horizontal bands are only partially distinct (not Full Bands); olive leaves show wear.Overall grade estimate: Good to Very Good (G-4 to VG-8), possibly low Fine in spots. Some dark toning and residual dirt are present, which is typical for uncleaned circulated examples from this era. No major damage, holes, or harsh cleaning visible.
