"Scott #94 3¢ Rose F Grill 1867, used with fancy geometric cross/'U' cancel". Include close-ups of the grill area (back or angled light to show points), front, and ruler shot. This is a solid mid-grade fancy cancel Grill: F Grill (points arranged in an area measuring approximately 10–11 mm x 13–14 mm — your measurement of 10mm x 14mm matches perfectly). The F grill is the most common grill type on 3¢ stamps of this era. Grills were added to prevent reuse (the points break the paper fibers so the stamp can't be washed off and reused).Cancel: Heavy fancy/geometric cancel (cross or "X" pattern with "U" element, greenish ink). Fancy cancels on grilled stamps add collector appeal.
