Ceramic lidded beer stein featuring polychrome transfer print depicting the 1810 royal marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese, with accompanying historical text to the base. Fitted with a pewter lid with original label of an angel and alloy percentages. Made in West Germany (Cold War Era). 6.5 x 5.5 in ( including handle) Translation of Text: "On the occasion of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig, later King Ludwig I., with Princess Therese v. Hildburghausen in the year 1810 on the Munich Theresienwiese, the first Oktoberfest was celebrated. The folk festival found general approval on the 'Wiesn' and has since been repeated annually with beer tents, sideshow booths, and agricultural exhibitions."
