Hand-carved Iroquois/Six Nations wood "Blower Mouth" False Face-style mask by Indigenous artist J. Thomas. Features hand-carved facial details, inset copper eye plates, and natural horsehair trim. Verso hand-titled and signed by the maker with leather hanging strap. Carving 4 in. long. Collector's Note: Chief Jacob E. Thomas (1922–1998) was a respected Cayuga chief, elder, and master artisan from the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario. Renowned for his craftsmanship in traditional woodcarvings, he dedicated his life to preserving Haudenosaunee culture, language, and ceremonial art. His hand-carved masks and sculptures are celebrated for their authentic detail and held in prominent collections worldwide.
