Hyalyn Pottery Black Matte Garden Club Centerpiece Bowl. Black matte glazed ceramic pedestal centerpiece or mantel bowl features a wide, ribbed, fan-shaped bowl raised on a slender turned stem and square plinth base. Underside shows white ceramic body lined with cork backing. 9 x 12 x 6.5 in Collector's Note: Founded in Hickory, North Carolina, in 1946 by H. Leslie and Frances Moody, Hyalyn Porcelain Co. produced mid-century modern art pottery, lamps, and decorative accessories. Known for sleek forms, distinctive matte glazes, and square bases, the company notably stylized its name in lowercase "hyalyn". The firm operated until 1973 following Leslie Moody’s death.
